Area Departments includes all fire departments within Marion County and Western Baxter County. This is for the purpose of Automatic and Mutual Aid. Each department has certain departments that respond automatically with them to certain types of calls. Each department can also call upon additional departments if needed. These are the departments that are Automatic and Mutual Aid for our department.

Automatic Aid is usually used for structure fires while mutual aid can be used for additional resources on structures fires or for grass and brush fires, motor vehicle accidents, search and rescue operations, or many other types of calls. Automatic Aid and Mutual Aid bring together water supply, apparatus, equipment, and manpower.

Training involving several area department at a time is often held. This keeps department personnel familiar with other department's apparatus, equipment, and procedures. So, the ultimate goal is for all area departments to work as one and provide area citizens with the best possible services.
